My only regret with this piece of work is that I picked a small canvas size - only a large one can do justice to this elegant-of-all instruments also called 'the Sitar'. With every brush stroke, I have only fallen more and more in love with this beauty. And I would be more surprised than anyone if I don't pick up a larger canvas for another artwork starring Sitar - pretty soon ;-)

I took music lessons for a month during my summer break while stationed at Mhow. That's where & how I was introduced to the tabla. It didn't take me long to appreciate the beauty of this instrument - and I doubt if listening to music was ever the same again. As I finished this artwork, I couldn't help but think of Mhow - a place that will always hold dear. It's here that I made my first painting under the supervision of a street artiste. The tabla always reminds of those good times, some new sounds and hopefully a musical 'ear'. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did :-)
